Ditch my soft, thick, microfiber beach towels for a thin turkish towel? I never thought I would make that switch, but that was before finding out about Teema Towels! Teema Towels are quality, hand woven pieces that serve not only as a towel, but as a shawl, scarf, or blanket. Being a Floridian, I am constantly at the beach or pool and in need of a nice towel. Most of the towels I previously used were so thick, didn’t dry quickly, and weren’t stylish at all. One of the best uses of my Teema Towel was for a sunset picnic I planned with my boyfriend. It was so convenient, because the towel is light and easy to pack, but still large enough for us to sit on. We ate fried chicken, strawberries, and watched the sunset over our campus. It was such a lovely night, and the beautiful towel was the finishing touch.
While our picnic was aesthetically pleasing, the cleanup was not. Fried chicken leads to sticky fingers, and messy crumbs. Luckily, I was able to just wrap the towel up and toss it in the laundry. The Teema Towel returned from the dryer fresh, clean, and as soft as ever. It just goes to show how easy it is to use. Aside from using it as a beach towel or a picnic blanket, you can also use your Teema Towel for many other things. Recently, I had a small birthday party and was able to use the towels as tablecloths. They looked so beautiful, and I received so many compliments about our gorgeous tablecloths. I also gave my mom one for Mothers Day, and she uses it as a throw in our living room. The wide variety of patterns, colors, sizes, and textures make the possibilities for use endless.
Upon doing some more research, I found out that most Teema Towels are made by a network of artisan weavers in Southwest Turkey. As someone who cares about the environment and sustainability, I am so pleased to know that these products aren’t made in a factory with low-paid laborers. Teema Towels are made by the hands of people who learned the art form from the generation before them, using looms that are even older than them.
